(Adnkronos) – The head of Chinese diplomacy, Wang Yi, and the secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergei Shoigu, on a visit to China, will meet tomorrow for the “annual strategic consultations on security.” The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced it. The goal, said spokesperson Lin Jian, is “in-depth communication” with “coordinated positions on bilateral relations and the main issues concerning strategic security and the interests of the two countries,” as well as “strengthening mutual trust.”
China and Russia, he remarked, “are strategic partners” and “maintain close communication on issues of mutual interest.” In the Asian giant, Shoigu is participating in the 19th round of strategic security consultations between China and Russia and in the ninth meeting of the cooperation mechanism on security matters, meetings that will continue until next Friday.
