(Adnkronos) – French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot has announced that new sanctions against violent Israeli settlers could soon come into force. Speaking at the Paris Peace Forum, Barrot said that ”we have been instrumental in setting up the EU sanctions regime which has already been activated twice and which could be activated a third time shortly”.
“We believe that these violent settlers and these intense settlement activities are illegal and this has to stop in the interest of Israel and its security,” added the head of French diplomacy.
