(Adnkronos) – Olaf Scholz says he is open to a parliamentary discussion on the advisability of bringing forward the elections, which he would like to be held in March, six months before the end of the legislature. Speaking in Budapest on the sidelines of the informal EU summit, the German chancellor called for a “serene debate” first of all on the laws that can be passed in Parliament this year under his minority government, which “could help answer the question of when is the right time” for a vote of confidence leading to early elections.
