(Adnkronos) – The State Meteorological Agency has activated a red alert for torrential rains on the coast of Barcelona. In the municipality of Baix Llobregat alone, it is estimated that over 180 liters per square meter could accumulate.
Meanwhile, the Spanish Minister of Transport, Oscar Puente, has announced the establishment of a crisis unit at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport to monitor the impact of the strong storms that are affecting Catalonia. 17 flights have been diverted from Barcelona airport so far due to heavy rains, the minister explains.
