(Adnkronos) – The prosecutor’s office in Georgia has announced the opening of an investigation into alleged falsification of the results of Saturday’s parliamentary elections won by Georgian Dream, a party founded by tycoon Bidzina Ivanishvili in power for 12 years and contested by the opposition. The coalition of four pro-European party groups spoke of “theft” of votes. The position of Western countries, for whom there were “irregularities”, was more moderate. President Salomé Zurabihvili “who should be in possession of evidence of possible falsifications was summoned tomorrow to the investigative agency to discuss it with investigators,” the prosecutor’s office said.
