(Adnkronos) – To celebrate Italian Language in the World Week, ambassador to Libya Gianluca Alberini hosted a ceremony at his residence in Tripoli to present Libyans who won scholarships to study in Italy with their award certificates, the embassy tweeted on Friday.
Founded in 2001, the annual Italian Language in the World Week is organised by Italy’s foreign ministry and other bodies promoting Italian: the education, universities and research and culture ministries, the Swiss embassy, the Accademia della Crusca, Cepell, CGIE, the Italian-Speaking Broadcasting Community, public broadcaster RAI, the Dante Alighieri Society, and the Italian Encyclopedia (Treccani), according to the foreign ministry.
