24 Ottobre 2024

(Adnkronos) – The Chief of Staff of the Ukrainian ‘Unmanned Systems Forces’ (Usf), dedicated to the development and use of unmanned systems, has been removed from office. The news came from Ukrainska Pravda. Roman Hladkyi was fired two months after his appointment, he wrote, adding that his successor is Colonel Oleksii Halabuda, former commander of the 28th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Hladkyi, the ‘Kyiv Independent’ reconstructs, had been chosen for the post after being fired from the position of Chief of Staff of the Navy following a scandal six years ago.

“Following an investigation by the Security Service of Ukraine, it was established that it is unsustainable for Roman Hladkyi to continue as Chief of Staff of the Unmanned Systems Forces,” the Defense Ministry told Ukrainska Pravda, speaking of a decision dating back ten days ago and that “was taken after all the necessary procedures and thorough checks with the aim of strengthening the effectiveness of the unit”.
