(Adnkronos) – At least 24 people died as a result of tropical storm Trami (Kristine). This is the latest toll from the Northeast Philippines, where more than 54,000 people have been displaced and more than seven million people have been left without electricity. Among the victims there is also a child aged one year and eight months. In Luzon, the government has ordered the closure of schools and offices.
Some people stayed on their roofs for two nights waiting for help. “In 24 hours, the equivalent of two months of rainfall fell,” said the authorities of the province of Albay.
